We actually can’t be attacked by our anxieties any more than your house can be attacked by its alarm system. What we are experiencing are episodes of avoidable high anxiety. Your fight or flight system that wants to keep you safe and away from danger.
What you want instead is to adjust your alarm system so it only goes off when there actually is danger. Like your house alarm being reset by a professional and working as it should rather than every time there is a storm. Your unconscious mind will learn how to feel comfortable and calm feeling the storms outside of yourself from a peaceful and safe place.
